Approved Minutes – Parish Council Meeting 17th July 2025
The minutes of the July ordinary meeting of Tuddenham St Mary Parish Council, held on Thursday 17th July 2025 in the Village Hall, have now been approved and are published below.
Key points from the meeting:
- Alan Melton was formally appointed as temporary (locum) Clerk & RFO.
- District Councillor David Taylor updated members on local government reorganisation proposals, severe traffic issues along the A11 corridor (including the Fiveways roundabout) and confirmed the West Suffolk Local Plan has been approved.
- Public raised concerns about 24-hour working at Barton Mills quarry, Village Hall bookings and clearer planning application notices.
- Council agreed to support a 20 mph speed limit throughout the village and noted ongoing quarry vehicle complaints.
- Annual Governance & Accountability Return (AGAR) signed off and sent to auditors; asset register and insurance values updated.
- Website migration is progressing; Facebook page to be reviewed.
- Fibre broadband rollout still incomplete – full coverage not expected until 2026.
- Payments authorised including SALC subscription, grass cutting and multiple Village Hall hires.
