September 2025 Umbrella Newsletter now available

The latest edition of the Umbrella Newsletter – produced jointly for the parishes of Tuddenham St Mary, Cavenham, and Herringswell – is out now.

This month’s highlights include:

• The exciting re-launch of Tuddenham’s Youth Club on Saturday 20th September from 10 am to 12 noon at the Village Hall. Games and activities for babies to teens, just £2 per child (snacks and refreshments included). Places must be booked in advance – please email tuddenhamyouthclub@gmail.com. Adult volunteers are urgently needed to help keep this valuable club running.
• Road-safety updates: a new streetlight has been installed on The Street (which was damaged and removed after an RTC), and the Parish Council continues to press Suffolk County Council for a permanent 20 mph limit and other traffic-calming measures.
• A big thank-you to everyone who joined the short VJ Day commemoration on 15th August and to Reverend Chris Childs for leading the service.
• The Parish Council is looking to appoint a new Proper Officer/Clerk. Full details of the role and how to apply can be found in the newsletter or by contacting the council.
• Over 2,400 free daffodil bulbs have already been delivered to the village and more than 440 more will arrive shortly – ready for a mass planting session to brighten Tuddenham next spring. There will also be 120 smaller tete-a-tete bulbs for children to plant at the Youth Club opening event.
• Harvest Festival services and the popular Harvest Supper (Saturday 4th October, Tuddenham Village Hall) – tickets on sale now.
